Why is mgs3 so hard

As for Snake Eater, I found it as difficult as Toblix. I suppose I really need to hone my skills before moving on. I'm three hours in at the moment, but I might restart on Easy as I kind of think that Very Easy alters the gameplay away from how it was designed you get an unlimited ammo "EZ" gun, for example, rather than more lenient baddies - or so it seems.

Even on Very Easy alerts don't disappear from screen to screen, your silencer still breaks, your batteries still run down It's pretty hardcore for an MGS game. Oh I just thought of something! Aren't there training missions in the extras menu? The advanced ones are very useful as there's pretty much no other way of discovering the less obvious techniques.

I started into MGS3 yesterday, after playing it a couple of times since I bought it in ' Same story this time around. I've tried the virtuous mission I don't know how many times but I can never do it stealthily.

The camera angle does cause some problems but even still I don't feel like I 'get it'. It's really annoying because I don't want to blast my way through it so I haven't saved my game yet. Anyway, good to see it's not just me having trouble. There are, yeah. There're videos that demonstrate each move somewhere in the menu, although I can't remember exactly where.

Could be extras, which'd imply it's a Subsistence-only thing. Maybe it isn't, though! I remember only discovering them towards the end of the game, which is why I didn't discover CQC until then.

I'd actually forgotten about them again until you just mentioned them. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment. Sign up for a new account in our community. It's easy! Posted August 3, It's definitely not ALL bad, but here's what's bugging me so far: Firstly, what's up with the lame Bond wannabe opening sequence? I even miss the Codec calls
. Remember, you're playing the origin story for 'Big Boss', you're not Solid Snake in this one. It's an awesome game. By the end you will love it.

Posted August 4, That's a pretty good price! Anyway, this is how I did it: I snuck around some. I got discovered. I hid behind a crate and knocked all the guys out as they came running to me. Stay as far away from the guard as possible. Aim at the guard's head with Mk. II with a suppressor.

Hide his body or kill him with the knife or a silenced gun. Repeat with other guards. Currently Playing: Kuro no Kiseki "If he dies, it doesn't matter. He's old anyway. User Info: gamemaster Lord of gaming!!! User Info: TheRyosuke. No offense dude I can't even imagine you playing MGS4 lol. I mean you just called the tranq gun useless.. User Info: MasterAdeptAlex. This game is easy for me. I can go through the whole game CQCing almost every guard and not have to use any camo to get by.

Try using knives next time, works better for close encounters. User Info: Altimis. The boss and Snake are close and the boss is constantly questioning snakes morales in war. The boss herself is a complex character who drives forward the main thinking from the point of view of Snakes narrative.

The game has positive messages. By the end you are told to think openly not believe in black and white and overall portrays the pointless lives lost for war and politics. Kid, 11 years old May 1, Violence I played this game for the first time was I was ten and the point of the game Is not violence as a matter of fact they encourage you to use a tranquilizer gun and to make enemies pass out not kill them.

Teen, 15 years old Written by one-shiny-spoon November 25, The end is very depressing, while there are some lighthearted moments between the beginning and the end.

Why 15 and up? One, a character by the codename EVA does not wear clothing to normal standards. TWO, one tourture scene involves a guy getting tortured and having is eye blown off. THREE, you can slit throats, shoot people, and blow people up. The controls are very frustrating to use at first, and take some time to use. Teen, 15 years old Written by Michael F.

August 6, Kid, 12 years old July 15, Is it really THAT bad? A quick note before you read: This is my first Common Sense review, so I don't really know how I'm gonna do this. Alright then. Let's start with violence. At first glance, this game might look bad, but it really isn't. Blood looks like thin strips of clot coming from the enemies, but it can be turned off in the options menu. Players are given man weapons, from shotguns to pistols to sniper rifles. A weapon that is always present is the Mark 22, which is a tranquilizer gun, therefore not actually killing the enemy.

Talks of assassinations and deaths take place, but nothing too gruesome. The language isn't anything you should worry about, One S word is said and that is the farthest it goes. The sexual content can be an issue, however. The messages in the game stay fairly positive, most being about the sins committed in battle and patriotism.

The largest factor to why this game isn't that bad is it's release date. Gaming has gone a far way since the days of the PS2, so graphic violence in't as graphic as it is today. Now I want to talk about how good the game is. The gameplay is intuitive and fun, the music and graphics were amazing for it's time, and the story. I won't spoil anything, but the ending is my favorite scene in video game history, and many agree with me. I would say that 12 year olds will be fine with this game, maybe 11 year olds but that depends on their maturity.

This is a must buy game. Teen, 14 years old Written by Sovaso June 14, But it does have some suggustive content. Throughout the game you play as Jack A. A Snake on a mission into the Soviet Russia to fight the Cobra Unit read on to find out more and clear America's name. Snake follows orders and direction, and is sometimes criticized for it. The violence in the game is in HOW you play this game.

You can use Camoflauge and and stealth tactics to sneak past enemies. There is a quick torture scene. Skip it as it is grusome and gross. Snake Loses an eye. I can say this because I have done it on hard difficulty. On extreme difficulty , the amount of damage each hit inflicts makes it an almost unfair match. The idea of fighting numerous Metal Gear Rays is more intimidating than the actual sequence. On earlier difficulties, they go down easily.

Just shoot the knee to reveal its weakness and then hit the vulnerable opening in their mouths. While the number of Rays one must eliminate increases on harder difficulties, the attack patterns remain largely the same. For anybody playing MGS1 without paying proper attention to the codec, the Psycho Mantis fight is almost unbearable. All it takes to make it a fair match is plugging the controller into the second slot, making it harder for Mantis to read the player's moves.

One can still win without this trick Colonel Campbell suggests, but it will be more frustrating. The notorious bomb-maker takes up a significant chunk of the early Plant Chapter in Metal Gear Solid 2 , but the actual fight is pretty easy. One simply has to watch out for the bombs he plants and disable them before they explode. One is usually given more than enough time to freeze the Semtex, however.
