Why is charles mccord leaving imus

I said Imus should take Wyatt to see some show or other. Imus crooked a finger at me to come nearer. Then he lifted his coat and pointed at his gun. Actually, Imus liked the theater.

The show became a hit largely because of his support. And he appreciated the talented performers on Broadway. I emailed him to thank him for giving me my start in radio and asked him for tips on how to create a good morning show. I surrounded myself with people who were more talented than I was. I was tough to work for. No one will ever have the opportunity to be me. The best you can do is be you. The great positive thing he did was create a ranch for kids. His controversial radio career should be helped greatly by what he did for charities and kids..

RIP I-Man.. When I was in middle school I used to set my alarm for 6 A. M and of course in would be set to A. I remember this morning to this day because I remember it like yesterday when Charles McCord went at the I-Man while I was getting ready for school. Don Imus. A radio titan has died. Don Imus died today at the age of Imus started off mornings for a lot of us with his irreverent and politically incorrect comments on his Imus In The Morning show.

He never hesitated to speak what was on his mind. He once broadcast his show from Charlotte Motor Speedway. Not that you'd notice, because he manages to do all this AND stay out of the way. Well, most of the time. But there have been occasions — few, but scintillatingly memorable — when McCord has erupted into a tirade over something Imus has done. Imus' prostate cancer is a prime example.

After weeks and weeks of Imus talking about it, beginning almost every conversation with a guest by announcing he has it, accusing guests who make some unrelated caustic remark of bullying a cancer patient, McCord will finally blow his stack — as he did when Imus brought up his cancer on the morning of the show's debut on the Fox Business Network:. Headhunters in New Guinea know you have prostate cancer.

Lost tribes in the Amazon know you have prostate cancer. Nobody cares. You want to know why nobody cares?

Because you have killed sympathy. You have not only killed sympathy for yourself, you have killed sympathy for cancer patients. You're going to get killed by something else — probably somebody around here with a baseball bat , if you don't stop it.

Repeated viewings still make laugh to the point of tears. I'm not shortchanging Imus here. Imus is quick on the draw, shoots from the hip without thinking and, more often than not, hits the bullseye.

Though it would be remiss not to note there have been a couple of infamous instances when shooting from the hip has gotten him in serious trouble. Charles is the more thoughtful of the two.

He may not fire as fast as Don, and certainly not as often; he's more selective. But when he does fire, he always hits the bullseye. For nearly four decades, Imus and McCord have been intertwined in each other's lives. Not to the point of the McCords having the Imuses over for Thanksgiving dinner as, after years of this annual charade, their audience is well aware , but they have more face and phone time in a work week than most of us could even contemplate spending with a co-worker.

Every day, in the period following the show, they meet with their small staff to start planning for the next day.
