However Tom's feelings for Hannah begins to change when he realises that she is getting married. He realises that he loves her. Slick stud Tom, a born womanizer, always had a boon for confident Hannah, the one who never fell for his cheeky charms but became his female confident, yen years after their college dorm days.
He always waved his New York basketball mates' warning she wouldn't remain available endlessly for a serial dater. For her job as art prospector, she was on a six weeks mission to Scotland, during which Tom realizes he misses her around badly.
To his horror, she returns with a Scottish perfect fiance, Colin, who already convinced her to move into his ancestral estate. While hesitating to make a last-chance move, baffled Tom accepts her invitation to act, lacking a girl buddy, as his 'best maid', inspired by his committed mates to attempt sabotaging Colin and convincing her he's the only soulmate.
So he comes along to Scotland, where he's heir to the country's largest whiskey distillery, and a champion at everything, from hunting to Highland games, yet Yankee novice Tom must compete. Against the odds, New Yorkers Tom and Hannah, who have known each other since they were in college together ten years ago, became best friends, those odds being their differences: Tom, a Lothario, who fashions his dating life to avoid any sort of commitment, and Hannah, the one woman who called out his womanizing behavior - his admiration of her in doing so the basis of their friendship - and with who he has never pursued because of it.
Independently wealthy Tom, who lives off the royalties from inventing the takeout coffee cup collar, is like his father, also a womanizer, who, conversely is commitment happy in being on wife number six, he choosing younger trophy wives even in knowing they are marrying him primarily for his money. The problem for Tom is not the fact that as her best friend Hannah asks him to be her maid of honor, but that while she was away he came to the realization that he wanted a life of commitment, specifically with her.

Top review. Romantic comedies - remember them? Here is lighthearted entertainment for an enjoyable evening at the movies. Columbia Pictures tries to reignite the romantic comedy genre with this frothy piece. Made of Honor is nice picture to watch but somehow the whole exercise seems forced and one can only think of what could of been if the script was just a bit stronger The movie takes way too long to get moving and doesn't know where to end It's hard not to give away plot points since this film seems glued together from bits and pieces of 's comedies as well as things you've watching on the Lifetime Network.
Still it is fun. And Made of Honor is a lot more enjoyable than Baby Mama which is just a long Patrick Dempsey looks good on the big screen but seems a bit lifeless. Do we really need scenes where characters discuss how pretty Dempsey is? He decides he cannot stay for the wedding and give her away. He tries to leave town. He recognizes the sheep dog to be the one from the Pub. He gets out and hugs the dog telling him, "I love you," words he has no trouble saying to dogs just people.
He mounts a horse and rides to the church where he is thrown through the door smack dab on his face. He comes to and says that he cannot live without her. They get up and kiss the kiss that they were always meant to have. Of course, this puts a kink in the wedding plans for Colin who is left holding the bag. His aunt, however, tells him to deck Tom which he does with a vicious right hook. Spoiler Points for Made of Honor Reviewed by Scooter Thompson at Saturday, May 03, Labels: Spoilers.
